Shaping Our Future at Sugarbush, Vermont
At Sugarbush Resort, the next generation of park builders didn’t just watch, they got behind the sticks.
During the 2026 Shaping Our Future event, the Prinoth Bison X took center stage, transforming from a machine into a hands-on classroom. From the first push to the final shaping pass, the Bison X played a critical role in building the event site, and more importantly, building real-world skills.
Shaping Our Future is a four-day program that provides inner-city youth with hands-on learning and real exposure to the behind-the-scenes world of mountain operations, photo and video mentorship, and design mentorship, in collaboration with Hoods To Woods Foundation at Sugarbush Resort in Vermont.
Hands-On Learning
Before participants stepped on snow, the Bison X was used to strip the area that held the medium park, redistribute snow, and create canvas for the event build. The biggest impact was when the machine became the experience itself.
Each participant had the opportunity to step into the operator’s seat, run the tiller, and move features with the blade. Guided by experienced Sugarbush grooming operators and Prinoth’s team, they didn’t just learn how a park is built, they did it.
Smiles are Contagious
As Trevor Borrelli, Sugarbush Terrain Park Manager, put it:
“Watching the staff step into mentorship roles is incredibly rewarding, but it’s the smiles that stand out. The smiles radiate energy, and that energy is contagious.”
That energy carried throughout the event. What started as a grassroots initiative, the brain child of co-founders Phillip Parrish and Ashley Rosemeyer, has quickly evolved into a powerful platform for mentorship, hands-on learning, and industry access. Professional athletes like Zeb Powell and Alex Caccamo returned in 2026 not just to ride, but to engage and inspire – offering insight into everything from park design to branding and event production.
Personal & Professional Progression
“It’s really moving to see the impact this program has on the young people attending,” said organizer Karlos Jeri. “We’re already looking forward to next year!” From reshaping terrain to reshaping perspectives, the Bison X proved it’s more than a snow groomer; it’s a tool for progression.
At Sugarbush, that progression is just getting started.
